vivo V50 debuts with 6,000 mAh battery and familiar specs
The vivo V50 is now official in India, and it brings a few minor spec differences compared to its predecessor. Starting from the outside, the vivo V50 has a 6.77-inch OLED Full HD+ 120Hz display that’s slightly curved at the edges. Peak brightness is rated at 4,500 nits, so overall the screen is a familiar one to the preceding V40 model. Similarly, the brains of the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but powering the device is now a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W charging support.
The display on the V50 still measures 6.77 inches and is of the OLED variety with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel features the trendy quad-curved look with a more subtle curvature than the one on its predecessor. You’ll also find Diamond Shield Glass, which vivo claims will offer improved drop resistance compared to the V40. Peak brightness now measures 4,500 nits.

The phone isn’t too heavy, but it isn’t that light either at 189g. Given the very generous battery it’s hiding inside, you might actually be shocked to realize it isn’t heavier than it could have been. It’s a little top-heavy as well, which is to be expected, so triggering the under-display fingerprint scanner requires a little bit more care to not have it fall off your hand.

The rest of the spec sheet is mostly a rehash of the V40 with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset at the helm paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and no expansion slot.
The camera department is headlined by a trio of 50MP modules with Zeiss optics. There’s the 50MP main shooter (23mm equivalent) with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 50MP front-facing shooter.
