One UI 7 promises improved camera app
The stable One UI 7 update, meanwhile, will come out in 2025 after the Galaxy S25’s launch. On the other hand, Samsung had released the stable One UI 6 update for several flagship and mid-range devices by this time last year.
Samsung’s current Camera app has the mode selection at the bottom of the screen and all the other settings — like the aspect ratio, timer, and flash — located at the top. It works relatively well, although users with larger phones often need to adjust their grip to reach the top settings.
One UI 7 promises a revamped Camera app with all the settings on the bottom for easy one-handed use. The mode buttons for photos, videos, and more are expected to relocate below the shutter button to make way for the zoom settings, which will take its place. The control settings from the top will then move to the bottom, with a quick access button to reach them.

The first major change you will notice in OneUI 7 is changes in the visual design. This is not a big jump or a complete redesign overhaul, but this update refines the existing design aesthetics of OneUI 7.
OneUI 7 comes with redesigned app icons with more rounded corners. The icons now look modern, have a gradient color, and are even more rounded. The battery icon has also been updated with rounded corners, which matches the design aesthetics of the One UI 7.

The recent apps section also gets an update with a new design and smooth-shifting animations. There are no major changes in the settings page. If you love using widgets on your home screen, the widgets on OneUI 7 also get a redesign with support for new widgets.
The lock screen also gets a couple of updates. Furthermore, Now, you can personalize your lock screen with dynamic widgets and customizable shortcut icons with widgets. The animation to send the app in the background is smoothened compared to One UI 6 and it’s a lot faster.
The task manager gesture is also optimized with a new animation that will reveal the app activity cards in unstacking movement. It shows the last opened app on top and the previous apps in the background.

It appears that the new animations are fully polished with the 120Hz refresh rate and increased touch responsiveness.Samsung’s new update is expected to bring enhanced parental controls and more security features to prevent unauthorized content access. It’s expected to introduce a locking system to restrict access to individual apps. One UI 7 will also reportedly include permission settings to restrict app purchases and downloads for kids without their parents’ approval.
It will also be possible to restrict internet access for kids and block or approve sites to ensure they can only access age-appropriate content. Location tracking will be another new feature, allowing parents to keep track of their kids’ whereabouts in real time.
