Huawei unveils FreeBuds Pro 4 with HarmonyOS NEXT
On November 26, Huawei unveils FreeBuds Pro 4 – the first earbuds with HarmonyOS NEXT. It comes in a sleek design with minor changes. But do not worry as the new earphones are full of dynamic features, audio upgrades, and AI capabilities.
FreeBuds Pro 4 unlocks a new design. It has a spectrum silver string finely carved on the ear handles via UV laser. Besides, the charging case shows a ceramic plate on the back which is as solid as rock and overlaps the glossy part of the case.
FreeBuds Pro 4 support L2HC 4.0, HWA Lossless and Hi-Res Wireless certifications. Huawei teamed up with the Central Conservatory of Music for sound tuning on the dual 11mm acoustic drivers inside the FreeBuds Pro 4.

Huawei also claims up to 100dB in noise reduction, which is way higher than that of most TWS buds with ANC. The three-stage memory ear tips play a key role in creating a proper seal around your ear canal. Huawei is also boasting class-leading call noise cancelation and spatial audio support.
The buds are quite similar visually to the FreeBuds Pro 3 but with a finer edge of the stem. It will also have Huawei Sound, which appears to be a rebrand of Huawei Histen audio features.
These earbuds having a dedicated operating system means they will feature extended integration in the HarmonyOS Next environment, which should include the new Mate smartphones, Pura 70 devices in China, and the Pocket 2 clamshell foldable.
The newly launched earbuds support the HarmonyOS NEXT-based Huawei Music app and bring intelligent features on board. The list counts the following capabilities:
Two-way silent call: Answer calls with FreeBuds Pro 4 and experience a clear voice even when you’re in concert.
AI noise reduction algorithm: Supports 100dB noise and 10m/s wind speed eliminating environmental sounds even in high-noise scenarios.
Three-stage memory earplug: It offers deep noise reduction of up to 30% and lets you hear clearly in noisy environments. It also auto-expands to fit in your ears.
Smart tracking: The earbuds can track your head movements to pick up or end a call. Just nod your head to answer and shake to reject.

The new earbuds come in three color schemes: Obsidian Black, Snow White, and Spruce Green. FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds have a size of 29.1 x 21.8 x 23.7mm and weigh 5.8 grams (each bud). Whereas, the charging case has a dimension of 46.9 x 65.9 x 24.5mm and weighs 47 grams. The full device weighs 165 grams.Pricing is set at CNY 1,499 ($208).
The new Sapphire Gold Watch Ultimate is priced at an eye-watering CNY 23,999 ($3,320).
